According to Iran’s state media, Ayatollah Isa Qassim, Iran’s point man in Bahrain, has stated that Western “tyrants” created terrorism in an anti-Islam plot and that no evidence can be seen of their engagement in the fight against terrorism.
Referring to them as “oppressors” and “colonizers” aided by “puppet governments”, Bahrain opposition’s Al Wefaq National Islamic Society’s spiritual head stated that Western governments are the cause of all corruption and evil, and seek to enslave Muslims. Qassim’s comments were made in the mosque he controls in the village of Diraz, home to many violent extremists who have been targeting government and security forces with escalating brutality for the past 5 years.
