Grand Ayatollah Criticizes Purchase of American Weapons
December 31, 2015: Khamenei’s official website published an interview with the Iranian leader on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. Khamenei said that Iran must not be fooled by America. He criticized nations that have purchased American weapons to fight the Islamic State.
He condemned Muslim countries for being silent in the face of crises in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, conflicts in which Iran plays a role in. Iran supports the regime of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad, providing soldiers and military expertise to the government forces.
